Messier 61

A barred spiral galaxy in constellation Virgo about 52 million light years away.
It is member of the Virgo galaxy cluster, has an active nucleus with a central supermassive black hole with a mass of about 5 million times the mass of the sun.
It is considers as starburst galaxy with young massive star forming regions.
Note in the last image the trace of a moving object in the right upper quadrant. The trace has a gap, because I had to pause the sequence for 15 minutes due to meridian flip and focussing. It is Asteroid 159 Aemilia.
There are quite a number of traces of asteroids in this image, however mostly removed by the rejection algorithm of the stacking software.
