Milky Way
A view approximately towards the center of our galaxy the Milky Way in constellation Sagittarius. Hidden behind massive clouds of gas and dust the central black hole. Lagoon Nebula and Trifid Nebula on the bottom right.
Omega Nebula and Eagle nebulae to the top.
Galaxies
M 94 is a very special galaxy only 16 million years away in constellation Canes Venatici. It has an outer and an inner ring. The inner ring is a region of very active star formation, probably triggered by infalling gas from the outer parts of the galaxy.

Other
Originally I wanted to image something else … and got this instead. Molecular clouds LDN 134 and LDN 1778 on the top and just in bottom left corner IC 4592 (Blue Horsehead Nebula). This is mainly in constellation Ophiuchus, Scorpius and Libra.

Dark Nebulae
Gammy Cygni (Sadr) is the bright blue star in the center of this image. It is 1800 light years away and the nebulosity in this image (IC 1318) is far behind (4900 light years).

M81 (Bode’s Galaxy, bottom left), M82 (Cigar Galaxy, bottom right) and NGC 3077 (top left). WIth 12 million light years from earth they are in the backyard of our galaxy.

These two object accidentally fit into one frame. On the bottom the Owl Nebula, a planetary nebula 2000 light years away, on the top the so called Surfboard Galaxy 40 million light yeras away. Quite a difference …

Milky Way
This one I missed completely … I wanted to catch a dark nebula (LDN 183 or so) and ended up 10 degrees too far north. Processed it anyway … and there is anyway something. It is the region around Lambda Serpens.
