IC 2162, Sh2-254, Sh2-255, Sh2-256, Sh2-257, Sh2-258, Sh2-259
This group of nebulae in constellation Orion is sometimes called “The Other Orion Nebula” or “Mushroom Nebula”. It is not as spectacular as its big brother, but nice anyway.

This group is about 6700 to 8000 light years away and consists of several HII regions.
It is imaged less frequently, but I gave it a narrowband try anyway.
It is a composition of data acquired in January 2023 and March 2025.
The reason is simply the very limited number of nights with clear skies in my region during winter season. Last two winters have been extremely bad in this respect …
