A hydrogen region in constellation Cygnus which is not imaged as often as the other more famous nebula in this region like North America Nebula or Crescent Nebula.

It‘s probably about 8400 light years from earth, but some sources report even larger values.
It somehow resembles the Cocoon nebula which is also not far away. But here the red hydrogen glow is present in the entire region and not only in the central region, where a hot young star delivers the power for the bright hydrogen glow.

Investing in the IDAS NBZ UHS filter for fast optics like the RASA was worth it. The result is stunning.
The additional frames taken only the UV/IR cut filter provided stars in their almost natural color.
