Sh2-104
A less frequently imaged small HII regions in constellation Cygnus about 13000 light years away.
Stellar winds and intense UV radiation of primarily created young massiv stars are powering this nebula and have created a bubble in the surrounding interstellar medium. Molecular clouds on the edge of this bubble have been compressed and are collapsing to form a new generation of young stars. Near infrared images of this region have revealed an open star cluster within the densest parts of the molecular clouds.
