HII regions in Cepheus about 2900 light years away. vdB 153 is a reflection nebula embedded in these huge cloud system.

This region is frequently imaged using narrowband filters to emphasize the glowing hydrogen clouds. I currently prefer to take pictures without filter in moonless nights – they show in many cases many more interesting objects, especially more details in dust clouds and reflection nebulae.
