IC 4601, vdB 102, vdB 103, vdB 101

These nice reflection nebulae can be found near the so called „Blue Horsehead Nebula“ in constellation Scorpius.
467 light years away two pairs of blue giant stars illuminate the dust in that region and create two beauties named vdB 103 and vdB 102.
The more orange nebula vdB 101 is home of a red giant star, which is close to the end of its life. Its distance to earth is a bit further away, about 490 light years.
The darker parts of the nebula are home of more young freshly born stars, which cannot shine through in visible light.
The whole complex is also named IC 4601.
This part of constellation Scorpius does not rise more than 30 degrees above horizon in my location before it disappears behind a tree. That is why I can only shoot for a pretty short time – pretty noisy result therefore.
